Had some mozzarella cheese a little earlier – about the size of a dollar coin. No emergency room for me!

OK, this sucks…
As most of you know, Halloween is my absolute favoritest day. The chance to dress up brings me back to my theatre days. I can be anyone I want for 2 days – there are a few of us who dress up for work, and then there’s the Halloween party. And I pride myself for coming up with really great costume ideas.
So why does nature have to make me sick on this weekend, of all weekends? I’m used to being somewhat sick around Thanksgiving or Christmas, so that wouldn’t be a problem. But this is “can’t move cause everything hurts” sick.
Thursday I had a slight sore throat and slight aches, nothing that was bad enough to stay home from work. There was a rumor that the director of my department was going to wear a costume, and although I don’t think he wore one, it would have been worth coming in on Friday to see if he did, even if I was sick. Thursday night/Friday morning, I woke up many times and realized I wasn’t going to work. I had muscle aches, a headache and a severe sore throat that prevented me from moving much. I had Adam call my work because I couldn’t talk above a whisper. You don’t realize how everything is connected until you can’t move your leg because it hurts your throat. And, while I know that my mouth produces a lot of saliva, this is getting ludicrous (yes, I’ve been watching Spaceballs.) I never learned how to spit, ‘nough said.
Today, Halloween, is going down as the worst so far. The muscle aches are gone, I still have a slight headache, but because I get migraines, a headache is nothing. The sore throat is better, but still not good enough for me to swallow anything more than Vitamin Water – the sugar helps, if only a tiny bit. It’s hard for me to open my mouth, and I’ve been talking to Adam only because it’s ridiculous to write things out if I don’t absolutely have to. I figure I’ll lose a pound or three this weekend because I’m consuming about 500 calories a day, another reason to drink the Vitamin Water.
I guess, if I don’t show improvement tomorrow – where my throat is good enough that I can eat soup that’s more than broth over a half-hour instead of a couple of hours – I should go to the emergency room so that I can at least get some nutrients pumped into my body. The guideline for seeing a doctor is having a sore throat that lasts for 7 days or having a severe sore throat with fever for 3 days. I haven’t had a fever, and I don’t think this will last for 7 days, but I gotta eat!
OK, I’m going to watch something I’ve watched many times before. I can’t watch anything new (or read anything new) because I don’t know what will make me laugh and what will get me worked up – both big no-nos. At least my costume isn’t topical, so I can wear it next year.

Geeks unite!
When I saw this in my kitchen, I was so excited. I love it!

So the Finance Committee decides to get rid of a public option in the debate for a comprehensive health care plan, but passes an Abstinence Only education program.
You know that a high school girl will take this “sex” ed class, get pregnant out of ignorance, then can’t get good prenatal care because her parents couldn’t afford health care.
Genius.
