The perils of addiction

So is it better to follow a webcomic you like on the artist’s own page, or should you go to the syndicated conglomeration and look at it there? And if the latter, does it make a difference to subscribe to it?

Answers, man! I need answers!!!

The artist own page, if you go to the syndicated conglomeration, there’s no way for them to know that the only reason you are going there is for the artist. HOWEVER, if you go to the artist’s own page, he knows without a doubt that you are there for him and him (or her) alone. They can then use those page hit numbers to expand their work on other syndicated conglomerations by showing how many loyal fans log on to read their work.

Just my 2 cents – o wait – dollar is weak – just my 25 cents.

But what if the cartoonist tells you to go subscribe to his comic on the syndicated website? I like going to different websites because each one is unique. Most of the people I read don’t have advertisers – this is just a hobby, and he/she has a day job.

I don’t know. I figure if and when I have the money, I’ll get a T-shirt or something from the personal site.

BTW, 25 cents still helps with the laundry!
