1. Don’t open up the window and have people out on the fire escape. It’s not only a hazard (drunk people on the 5th floor?), but when you’re in earshot of about 200 people in the immediate area, someone’s going to get mad, and possibly call the police.

2. Don’t go on the roof, for the same reasons. And you may clog the downspout and flood other people’s bathrooms.

3. Don’t start dancing at 3 in the morning, because you sound like elephants. And in that vein, make your feet comfortable - don’t wear your high heels past 3 either.

4. Do stay out of the bedroom, and the people below you will love you to pieces.

5. You don’t have to play the music so loud that people have to shout to be heard. That’s why we go to parties in other people’s houses - we don’t have to pay exorbitant prices and we can talk to each other without shouting.

Parties on a Saturday night are great, and usually other people don’t mind a late night every once in a while, but just because you’re on the top floor and can’t hear other people, it doesn’t mean that other people can’t hear you.
