So apparently…
It’s going to take 20 years for the MTA to completely upgrade its system. The main problem is that 75% of its budget goes to maintenance of the subways (instead of commuter rails – above ground trains) but 90% of all commuters take the subway.
Moral is, don’t be corrupt and save money for the future so that people will be more forgiving when you say it’ll take 20 years to get yourself in gear…
